Iris is an undergraduate in MMU, studying accountancy. Accounting is not really her passion; she's just really good at counting. She used to want to write for a living (she wants to publish a book someday) but Mr. Fear told her that's not such a good idea. So now she's attempting writing part time.
She's highly addicted to sleeping and Coke and orange juice, and a cup of really good, 'kaw' coffee get her high (seriously!). And when she gets high, she either sleeps a lot, or talks a lot.
Iris is also quite a babbler, and she would love to argue with you just for the heck of it. And being a sore loser and a former debater, she will definitely win you over with her nonsensical arguments. So don't bother trying; she'll just drive you nuts!

MalaysiaKini’s recent article on dress codes sparked some dissatisfaction in me and naturally prompted me to give my two cents.

I have a sister who studied interior design, but now works in a travel agency. My younger brother finished SPM earlier this year, and refuses to continue studying; he said he didn’t know what to study anyway. A friend of mine switched from full time studying, part time working to part time studying, full time working. He’s earning about 2K per month now.

Having been born and raised in a country with constant summer, it is nothing out of ordinary to want to be in a place where it actually snows for real. I’ve wanted to see, touch and feel real snow (not man-made snow from Snow World or what-not) for so long and I was often envious of my friends who had the chance to go abroad, whether to study or for a vacation.
And as the story goes, I finally got the chance.

It is funny how I came across this article just as I was settling down to write about something similar to it. The article describes the Love Jams a girl might encounter if she has a ‘triangle relationship’ with her best friend and another boy (read: cute, cute boy). The funny part is, I had a first hands experience for some of the ‘love jams’ described.
Just so you won’t have to go the article to know what I mean, these are the ‘love jams’ that were mentioned:

Do you know that the latest news in Hollywood is not Angelina Jolie’s babies, but rather of Jamie Lynn Spears, sister of the ever famous Britney Spears. She’s only 17 and followed her sister’s footsteps as a singer/actress and has recently become a mom herself. Almost everyone has read that news. But have you read this one: Students Made Pregnancy Pacts?
Are you shocked?
You shouldn’t be.

That is the most cliche kind of question you can ever ask, or hear from your boy/girlfriend. How can you ask your loved one to choose between his/her loved ones?
Or can you?

A few years ago, reality TV shows were a hit. I’m not talking about shows like American Idol and Akademi Fantasia (even though they were hot then too), I’m talking about reality shows about finding love. The Bachelor, Average Joe, The Bacholorette… ring any bells?
I wrote a piece of fiction inspired by these shows back then because I thought how funny it was that real life is hardly ever depicted in these shows, or rather how these shows was a bit too dreamy to be true. (Especially Average Joe - such a mean thing to do to us girls! - they should produce another show called Plain Jane, the opposite version of Average Joe)
So, here it is. Enjoy! Read the rest of this entry »

I was waiting for the bus with my boyfriend the other day, when two girls, who were also waiting for the bus, happened to stand just right in front of us. Just two ordinary girls, dressed ordinarily. But then my boyfriend asked,
“Why do girls wear heels like that?”
