troisnyxetienne

Annette Singh a.k.a. troisnyxetienne is presently doing A-Levels, and quotes "having a complicated username and a burning passion for music - composing, remixing, playing the piano, drumming, singing........" She loves the drums and the French language, and believes that her life is made for something more valuable than the challenges placed her way. If the music is too loud, it could mean that you've extra speakers built within you, or you're just too old. Deep down, she has this dream of breaking into the music industry someday, no matter how hard it turns out to be. Ah well, as long it doesn't make her go "QUE FAIRE ??!!"
She was born, bred and schooled in KL - literally programmed to breathe KL air, we'd say - She spent her primary and secondary years in Convent Bukit Nanas and she is now studying in Brickfields Asia College. Instead of living her dream immediately after SPM, she has been pushed off track to become a lawyer. No wonder the dissatisfaction!
YouthMalaysia caught her eye when she first went to it in February 2007, and ever since then, she has been constantly writing..... Well, go ahead and encourage her to write about things, or else she'll turn ratio decidendi into obiter dicta. *Phew* Now I sound like a lawyer too.

Being in a hospital is depressing, no doubt. Being in a high dependency unit or an intensive care unit is more depressing. Everyday we see people being carried out of the wards – some are headed to the normal wards, some are lucky enough to be discharged with a clean bill of health, while the unfortunate ones are headed to the mortuary. And at the end of the day, no matter what the cause, the only reply people get is “Sorry, we did our best.”

August is nigh, and so it’s high time people heard these two cents.
31st of August comes and goes every year. Flags, national symbols, articles about the country’s history, patriotic songs, etc. are among the many things that distinguish the Independence season from every other time of the year. The red, white, blue and yellow paraphernalia return just for the month-long celebration which begins on the 16th of August and ends on the 16th of September (Malaysia Day). In schools, competitions are held to see whose sajak (poem) is the best, whose class is the best decorated, the like. Not to say that these things are bad; they should go on, but from what I have seen, many seem to be on an emotional high thinking that they may do just about anything to show love for the country. Last year, on the occasion of our 50th Independence Day, there was a geezer who went hungry for several weeks for the sake of patriotism. Honestly, I wonder if that actually took a toll on his health.
Friends, is all this necessary?

Now, how’d this one get on the floor?
This is another one of those photos I took in college. Only this time, it’s on the second floor right next to the computer lab. And no, this thing was not drawn. It was imprinted on the floor! I bet nothing can remove it now.
And please don’t ask whose feet those are.

Honestly, I feel that our English is going down the drain!
I took a picture of one of those picture boards in the Plusliner/Nice office in the KL Railway Station

Seeing television advertisements can be fun. Same goes for hearing ads on the radio. Being the brains behind these ads could be much of a challenge, but it’s rewarding. After all, the concept is such that part of the revenue from the sale of any product would go to advertising costs. And if the ad is catchy enough, you’re in for a windfall.
Would you believe us…

Truly, it has been a while since I left school. But whenever my friends mention the names of the new prefects while talking to me, I cannot help but smile. Mention prefect election in SMK Convent Bukit Nanas (my dear old school turned cluster school!) and one would picture it to be a solemnity with candles, long cloaks, etc. No. For as long as I can remember, prefect election was, is and always will be democratic, minus the politics. Every year, it takes place in August – short-listing is done a month before. I was never a prefect in school (I kept on rejecting the post because I did not want my meetings to clash with my study time). However, I still know how things were done because I partook in the process, like everyone else.

“I want the yellow man!”
“This blue baby’s going to freeze that yellow man.”
“No! Red is fire! It can burn up everything! And it can even melt ice!”
“Good fools, shush! Orange is the new black in town. It’s going to rise and destroy all the other colours out there. Mwahahaha!”

If you find yourself staring at your tea label during your date, you know it’s time to panic.
Ahem. Girls, get the cocktail dresses ready. Guys, if you have to wear Armani suits, go ahead. But always remember, words can be well played upon and one faux pas from your lips spells disaster. So, when going out on a first date, beware, and remember not to say these: Read the rest of this entry »

Somewhere in 1999, in Readers’ Digest, we were ranked sixth out of twelve Asian nations when concerning safe driving. Yes, somewhere in the middle, I’d say. Now, nine years have passed and I don’t see any significant change in this trend (except for the fact that everyone has began to drive slowly due to the fuel price hike). Right now I have my learner’s licence and the test is somewhere in the middle of next month. I have already begun to hit the road, and I have made an assessment of the ten types of drivers we hate the most. On Malaysian roads, that is. And no, I am not a Puritan. I have my share of errors too.

People, listen up ! I’ve got lotsa raw ideas, hoping that they’d turn into music videos/singles someday. Here lies the problem : no one around me wants to listen. So I’m opening the scope up to everyone on YouthEcho (and perhaps, beyond). I set up a forum for it - so if you wanna partake in the creation of heart-wrenching stories, register and join me at :

Hi Annette =) Yes, I’ve been in and out of production, but I don’t decide who gets in or out though
I’ve checked out your compositions before and I do like them, so I joined your forum in support.. and since you’re into music, I am quite too!
I’ve done time in recording studios for tv shows, but I’m more of a player than a creator (composer). I simply like to sing =)
ps: if you click on my name here, it’ll lead you to my YouTube channel where I make silly singing vids. I go by the name “Erin” there.
Good luck! =)

Thanks a lot Puteri….. =) Wish I could reel in the members. The more the merrier……..
I love singing and composing. I vowed that whatever I produce, I would perform - of course, not alone. I need people to help me get this show off the road.
