What’s on the scene? Movies, music, theatre, performing arts, stand up comedies, celebrity gossip, mimes, and all other artsy fartsy stuff young people are interested in. Do you know what other young people are indulging themselves with? Whether it’s your two cents on the latest fad in Youtube or the latest addition(s) to the Pitt family - be the first to tell us about it.

Avril’s Best D*mn Thing

Avril Lavigne Live in Malaysia Concert was really a once-in-a-life time rock experience that I enjoyed very much.
Opting KL as the kick-start point, the international pop punk icon set off her first Best D*mn Tour in Asia at Stadium Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur on 29th August 2008. Although a light drizzle was falling in the early evening, Avril’s fans were still very supportive of the 23-year-old Canadian pop star. The pinkish night started with Avril singing the very familiar “Girlfriend” and her lovely vocal invited lots of screaming from the crowd, before we were entertained by the song “I Can Do Better”.
Paris for President?
Would you want Paris Hilton as your next President? Well, the Blonde bombshell certainly thinks she’s up for it!
Things to catch this August!

Feeling bored? Itching to try something new? Or just need a break from the hectic college / working life? Here’s a list of healthy and exciting things to do for this August. Go ahead, read on!
Heath Ledger - The Legend
Heath Ledger (1979-2008)
When I first heard that Heath Ledger would be the new “Joker” in the latest Batman movie, I had my doubts. The main question I had was, how on earth is Heath Ledger ever going to match up to Jack Nicholson’s portrayal of the Joker? I mean, come on, Heath was the high school playboy in “10 Things I Hate About You”, the charming “Casanova” and is most remembered as the gay cowboy in the highly controversial “Brokeback Mountain”! And now, he’s playing the Joker - the psychopathic, lunatic, non-sympathetic clown who amuses himself at the expense of people’s life (or death)? You gotta be kidding me!
HULK: Man or Beast?
A scientist that transforms into a huge, raging, green-eyed beast fills the cinemas this year as The Incredible Hulk. If you’re a comic book enthusiast (especially Marvel) and have the appetite for action-packed scenes, you would definitely enjoy this movie. Read the rest of this entry »
Joanna Wang who?

Album: Joanna Wang “start from here”.
If you love jazzy voices and soothing music to ease the ears. If you like songs with lyrics that sometimes tug at heartstrings. If you love a mix of English and Chinese songs, then Joanna Wang’s album is one you would love.
I personally can’t speak Mandarin but I secretly love Chinese songs. Listening to her sweet soothing voice which is as clear as trickling water on a glass panel, I would have never known that this Taiwanese new comer is only 20 years old.
Reality TV: The World’s Candy, My Poison
Reality shows. Cannot live with them, cannot live without them. Several reality shows – local and international – have been flooding our TV screens (and to some, our PC screens as well) – think American Idol, One in a Million, So You Think You Can Dance?, and even our homegrown Akademi Fantasia. The bright side of these shows is that by participating in them, everyone stands a chance to be the next superstar and obtain recognition.
I love singing and I dream of cutting several singles and albums someday. However, I cringe when someone asks me to join a reality show. Not my type. The “dark side” of such shows haunts me every time I watch them.
Why?
What Happened to the “Group of Death”?
Early this morning, we (especially football enthusiasts) saw Italy got knocked out from the UEFA EURO 2008 by Spain in a penalty-shootout during the Quarter Finals in Vienna, Austria. All the Quarter-Final matches are done, and we are waiting for the Semi-Finals to commence in two days. I have to say this is one of the best EURO competitions thus far because it is packed with thrills and drama, full of shocking results and comebacks and also not to forget the transfer saga that spiced up this tournament.
Totoro?
Once in a while, one comes across a rare gem of anime that never really loses its shine. Ok, maybe just otaku like me will say that, but really, who can deny that ‘Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi’ a.k.a. ‘Spirited Away’ is the breath of fresh air in anime that one can never tire of?
Po learns to “POW!”

If you have a soft spot for fluffy creatures with beer belly-like torsos and a tendency to sound exactly like Jack Black (well, it IS Jack Black) then you are bound to love this movie.
